Can you believe Christmas is almost here? Time seems to be going so fast, and the end of the year always feels like the fast forward button is being hit. With all the activities and events going on this time of year, I have heard many of my friends say I haven't had time to be in the Word or have quiet time. This got me thinking, so I am sharing a way below with each devotional on when to find time to be in the Word. Each of the journals has lay-flat binding, a ribbon marker, and non-bleed paper. There is scripture, a reflection or message, a prayer, and lines to reflect and write on for each of the 365 days of the year. Each of the pages is marked with the calendar date, and each devotional could take as little as five minutes to read through. I enjoyed the flexibility of the lines where you could write, or possibly draw or color.

Peace Begins with Me Journal: A 365-Day Devotional Journal has a beautiful, tranquil color of turquoise, white and gold throughout the front and back cover, and all through the journal. I immediately thought of my mother-in-law when I saw this journal. It is classy, comforting, and elegant just like she is. The theme of this journal is a gift from God, which is peace. Peace affects others, and my mother-in-law is one of the wonderful people that counsels with me and offers me advice to help keep my peace. I admire and look up to her, and I am very excited to gift this journal to her soon for her birthday.

Her and I love having coffee together and talking, so I thought I would share this as one of the ways where time can be spent in the Word. The pages are absolutely gorgeous, and I love the color this journal used. When I think of peace, I would absolutely think of this calm, turquoise color. I looked up important dates for my mother-in-law in this journal, and found 2 Corinthians 12:9 and Psalm 108:5-6, which spoke of grace and glory.

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus (365-Day Devotional Journals) is a delightful journal full of flowers in all kinds of colors from the greens of the stems to peach, coral, and white petals. Each of these devotions starts with a line from a song or hymn. The theme of this journal is finding the time to be in the Word. This made me think of all us Moms always running around and busy. My sister has 3 daughters and this journal really made me think of her. My nieces and my sister love being in the car and listening to music and singing, so I love that each of these devotions start with a song or hymn.

My sister is another amazing person in my life who I seek advice and counsel from. She is a cosmetologist so she is always making others feel beautiful by doing their hair and makeup. This is something her and I have enjoyed doing together also for many years, even before she became a professional cosmetologist. This made me think of spending time in the morning getting ready for work, or later in the day when you are ready to go run errands, why not spend a precious few moments in the Word. I am excited to gift this journal to my sister as one of her Christmas gifts. I hope it gives her the ability to take the time to be in the Word. "Take the Name of Jesus With You" by: Lydia Baxter was the song for a special day in my sister's life. It is about going through the journey of life and completing it; something her and I talk about daily.

The Earth Is the Lord's, and Everything In It: 365-Day Devotional Journal is a journal that focuses on the creative nature of God. It's about having our souls refreshed and hearts encouraged. While this journal also has beautiful flowers, the focus of the illustrations is nature and these outstanding peacocks. The blues, greens, yellows and grays in the feathers are whimsical and this journal just spoke my language and style.

Ellie Claire Gifts

I spend a good 20 minutes each day in car rider at my sons' school. I thought this would be a great time to have quiet time and be in a relaxed mood when my sons get in the car from a busy day at school. Colossians 3:2 was the opening scripture for a special day in my life, and that was very fitting for me lately. It gave me the encouragement not to focus on things of the earth, and gave me a reminder that my focus needs to be on God. All three of these journals are exquisite and I think they would be beloved by anyone that would receive them as a gift, even if it is a gift for yourself.

Prayers for the Battlefield (Review)

Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of Prayers for the Battlefield from Tyndale Blog Network, in exchange for a honest review.

Prayers for the Battlefield: Staying MomStrong in the Fight for Your Family and Faith is such an appropriate title for this amazing book. With all the technology available today, it would seem life would be easier for us Moms. With all of the responsibilities, we often just get caught up in trying to survive, and we forget we are in a constant spiritual battle. This book is full of scripture, reflections and prayers to help us remember to rely on God, and stay MomStrong.

This book would be wonderful for any season of motherhood, from a new Mom to an empty nester, to becoming a Grandma. I love how the author, Heidi St. John reflects on the importance of raising children who love and know the Lord. It reminds us Moms that God is in control, and how with this faith, weakness in us becomes strength in Christ.

There are six sections in this book, and each section has about 5 chapters each. Each chapter starts with scripture, a story of reflection, a prayer, and scriptures to reference in your Bible. I enjoyed all aspects of this structure, especially referencing scripture in the Bible. This helped me tremendously with my quiet time with the Lord. I was able to focus and start my days with this knowledge, and each chapter took me less than 15 minutes to read through and reference my Bible.

I would definitely recommend this book to every Mom I know. We are so hard on ourselves as woman, wives, and mothers. This book is a beautiful reminder that we are the Lord's, and our lives are His as long as we give that control over to Him.

Beloved Devotional (Review & Giveaway)

Beloved Devotional

Many of you may know, that I am a Boy Mama. I am incredibly blessed with two amazing sons, and I am beyond thankful to the Lord for both of them. I am also blessed to be an aunt to my awesome nieces and nephews. I understand my sons and my nephews, and they make it easy on this Boy Mama because usually they just want someone to hang out with, someone to talk to, make them something to eat, or watch a movie or play a game with them. My nieces are a different story. Love them just as much, but it is definitely more complicated. For instance (Girl Mama's don't laugh at me!), I was at my friend's baby shower a few months ago and learned that hair bows have different sizes like a one or a six. I had no idea what my friends were talking about!

Beloved Devotional

It is not an easy world children are growing up in today. I think it is harder on girls though. I have five nieces, and I hear stories from my sister and my sister-in-laws about what they face in school. I think it is important to have children know from a young age, that they are surrounded by parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents and teachers that care about them. Most importantly, it is essential that they know they are loved by Our Heavenly Father. This wonderful devotional brings 365 days worth of scripture, a message and a chance to journal or write down thoughts from that specific day.

Beloved Devotional

Beloved: 365 Devotions for Young Women  can be enjoyed by girls and women as young as the later elementary years, into middle school, high school, college and beyond. Women get to hear about powerful role models in the Bible such as Ruth, Esther, Mary or Abigail. The devotionals cover real world issues girls face today, and how they can find God in their hearts and lives. In as little as five minutes a day, young women can get a relevant, phenomenal message delivered to them in this devotional.

Beloved Devotional

This is an outstanding devotional, and I would highly recommend it. I love being able to be present in the lives of my nieces and be the extra bit of encouragement for them. I am planning on gifting this to my second oldest niece this Christmas. Who would you gift this to?

Beloved Devotional

Check out their website for a sneak peek of the front and back cover, and the first seven days of devotions!

Ellie Claire Art Journals (Review)

Ellie Claire Art Journals
Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links. I did receive a sample of the products in exchange for this review and post.

I was blessed with a journaling Bible and markers last year for my birthday, by a dear friend. I had no idea the popularity of Bible journaling (also called sermon note-taking), but I soon became intrigued. I saw these beautiful images people expressed of their faith in such a creative way, whether it be on their Facebook, Pinterest, or Instagram pages. I wondered how could I learn to make such gorgeous artwork in my Bible.

Ellie Clair Art Journals

I was very excited to learn about the Ellie Claire Art Journals for this reason. The three exquisite journals are embossed on the outside with amazing fonts and designs, and have a hardcover. They feel almost handmade, and you can see the work, effort, heart, and thought that went into making them. Each journal has lay-flat binding, and thick papers, so that markers don't bleed through the pages. The journals each include blank, lined writing pages. From here, they take on their own unique features.

Ellie Claire Art Journals

Faith & Lettering Journal

The Faith & Lettering Journal teaches the art of hand-lettering, and how this can create a peaceful quiet time for being in the Word. The author suggests about 15 minutes a day of practicing this technique. There are multiple examples of lettering and how to do it. One of the examples below shows how you start with a full outline of the scripture you are hand-lettering. It then allows you to trace that same example. There are then four spaces where you can practice. The scripture below of Ezekiel 36:26 is one of my favorites, "I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh."

Faith & Lettering Journal

The overall designs in this journal on the inside and outside are beautiful. Remember that dear friend I told you about earlier? She is expecting her second baby early next year, and as soon as I saw this journal, I literally felt like it had her name on it. It reminded me of her kindness, love, and generosity she gives to everyone she meets. I had this journal serve as the card in her baby shower gift from me. I wrote how much her friendship means to me in the inside cover. She was so excited, and thankful because it gave her a reminder to get back into the Word and experience quiet time with the Lord.

Faith & Lettering Journal

 The Illustrated Word Journal
Amazon
Barnes & Noble

The Illustrated Word: An Illuminated Bible Coloring Journal is a journal where 40 illustrations have been recreated as line drawings to color. Also included are the matching full-color illustrations from the archives of the Museum of the Bible. The picture shown below shows you the coloring page on the right as the full size page to color. In the corner on the left side of the page is the full-color illustration. Another favorite scripture of mine was found in this journal: "Be still, and know that I Am God." (Psalm 46:10)

 The Illustrated Word Journal

Some of the illustrations from the archives are dated back to the 1300's. I loved that this showed Biblical history and what it looked like at the time. The example illustrations above and below are from The Church of England Book of Common Prayer, from 1662! I thought the coloring pages being shown with what the actual illustration are a wonderful idea. I think this allows you the creativity to either color it the same way as in the illustration, or to put your own spin on it.

 The Illustrated Word Journal

Coloring pictures is definitely not just for children anymore. I know many people who would enjoy this journal, as coloring relaxes them. What greater time to be in the Word, then when you are at peace and relaxed! This journal will be difficult to gift because I think my father-in-law would enjoy this, as well as my cousin, sister-in-law and my preteen niece!

 Illuminate Your Story Journal

 Amazon
Barnes & Noble

Illuminate Your Story Journal teaches the almost-lost art of illuminating letters. The letters were inspired by manuscripts in the Museum of the Bible's collection. It includes Insular, Carolingian, Ottonian, Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance Illuminated Letters. A description of each of these periods and styles is given in the introduction of this journal. There is also a brief set of directions on how to use the journal, as well as a list of art supplies you may want to use.

Illuminate Your Story Journal

In this journal, there are quotes from famous people in history. The example below came from Laura Ingalls Wilder, "As the years pass, I am coming more and more to understand that it is the common, everyday blessings of our common everyday lives for which we should be particularly grateful." There is a folder in the back for Keepsakes, such as keeping pictures, favorite scripture passages, or cards or notes from friends or family. The letter illustrations are colorful and exquisite, and included are some hints and tips throughout the journal to help make your lettering better.

Illuminate Your Story Journal

All three of these journals were incredible. If I had to pick a favorite though, it would be the Illuminate Your Story Journal. I felt this journal was more my personality. I adored the history of the illuminating the letters and the description given of each era. I liked that there was more direction, which I needed because I am not the greatest of artists. I will be keeping this one for myself, and I am practicing daily. I am very excited to be able to have this journal and my journaling Bible show my faith more creatively and visually, and to be able to spend that time being in the Word. If you had to pick a favorite of the three above, which would you pick? Leave me a comment to let me know! Thanks for stopping by to read my review!

Hillsong Kids DVD, Can You Believe It!? (Review & Giveaway)

Hillsong Kids DVD, Can You Believe It? (Review & Giveaway)

Hillsong Kids DVD, Can You Believe It!? is a 25 minute DVD filled with kids singing worship songs, and lyric videos. The title of the DVD serves as both a challenge and a question. It invites children to learn more about God and His love, and also their faith. Hillsong believes that teaching children to love God and others takes place in both the home and church. Some of the worship songs include "My Best Friend," "Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)," and "What a Beautiful Name."

Hillsong Kids DVD, Can You Believe It!? (Review & Giveaway)
These guys in the DVD are so funny, and it makes it so enjoyable for children and adults to watch!

In between the music videos, are Funny Man Dan and his co-host, as they act silly and play games, like the one pictured above. This matching game included who God is and what the Bible is, and what living for God would look like. During other in-between music video segments, they would have another person with them that they would ask questions to. I thought the discussions were perfect for a child's understanding, and I think they did a great job of explaining God's love and grace.

Hillsong Kids DVD, Can You Believe It!? (Review & Giveaway)
My sons loved the music and being able to see the kids in the music videos!

The music videos are all so cute! The videos include kids in real life situations such as being out in nature, at home, and spending time with family and friends. My sons and I very much enjoyed the videos and the songs. Each of the videos shows kids helping others, which I thought was such a positive attribute. My favorite video was children dressed and acting like their parents and staff in adult church. It had a child portrayed as the pastor, and the amount of work that goes into setting up chairs and the venue before church. It showed what it takes to setup the worship stage.

This DVD would make a wonderful children's Biblical resource for not only parents, but also church leaders and pastors. My husband and I teach second grade boys Sunday School, and the students absolutely loved this DVD! They were singing and dancing in the classroom along with the kids in the music videos. We also play the game, Four Corners, where we  have them go around the classroom as music plays. When the music stops, they have to go to the closest corner of the classroom, where there is a name, city, or description of what we have read in our lesson that day. We have a student pick a name out, and whichever corner has that name on the label, that team of students gets points. The students asked if this DVD could be the music going forward! My family and my students adored this DVD. I hope yours will too!

Kerfuddle: The Exciting Word Game (Review)

Kerfuddle: The Exciting Word Game (Review)
Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of  Kerfuddle: The Exciting Word Game, through Befuddled Games, as part of the Homeschool Review Crew, in exchange for a honest review.

Autumn is probably my family’s favorite season. The weather cools down, the leaves change colors, football, holidays, food, and catching up with friends and family. We love to have the windows open and just spend time together inside as a family. One of the ways we do this, is to play board games. I was so excited to learn about Kerfuddle, and with both of my sons learning how to spell and read sight words, I thought what a fun way to do learning and family time together.

Kerfuddle: The Exciting Word Game (Review)

Kerfuddle is a family game that can be played in as little as 15 minutes, with 2 to 6 players. It is suggested for ages 8 and older, but my 7 year old who is second grade had no trouble playing. All the pieces come in a convenient cup with a lid, which makes clean up easy, and having the lid I think is a great way to not lose any pieces. It also makes it a fantastic game to bring to a friend’s house. Each game comes with the cup, 14 Letter Cubes, Number Cube, 12 “Shake It Up” Cards, Game Mat, Sand Timer and Full Instructions. The only thing needed to play is some pens or pencils, and some paper or a notepad.
