Social Butterfly Sunday #52

Hi, friends and Happy Memorial Day weekend to you all! I am so grateful for the brave men and women who fight for our freedom. I love that there is a day to honor and remember these amazing people. Both my husband and I had grandfathers who served, and also my husband's older brother Chris.

I wanted to share a bit of a dilemma I am having. I know that many people have other parties that they visit, and it is hard to comment or click on every single post. (There were 63 posts linked up at last week's party!) I spend a lot of time commenting and pinning every single post here each week, and I have noticed lately that there is hardly anyone visiting others posts, let alone leaving a comment. (For the people that are commenting, you are awesome and I thank you for that!) I'm thinking about either getting co-hosts for #SocialButterflySunday, or possibly just featuring 3-5 posts per week. I enjoy commenting and reading each of your encouraging articles, but it's becoming harder for me to comment and pin every article. This breaks my heart, as I have grown to know many of you through your articles. If you could, please leave me a comment and let me know what you think and if you would consider being a co-host with me. Thanks! I appreciate you all so much :)

  1. Thank you for hosting Kelly. I have always wondered how you have time to look at each post and comment! Plus take the time to pin. It is basically up to you! Remember it is your linkup! You can make it one of the rules to comment on at least one other post. I pretty much don't link up where I have to comment on the previous post. I hate that and have deleted my posts from a linkup just so I don't have to comment on something I don't agree with. As for you commenting, it is really great that you do (comment), but other hosts do not. Maybe you could comment on the ones that you plan to feature and just pin featured posts. There is only so much time in a day and it can't all be blog time!

    1. Hi, Debbie! I appreciate you taking the time to comment and leave me with these great ideas. I am truly blessed to have you and these amazing bloggers link up here each week, and just wanted to make sure your posts gets the most views they can from the linkup. Thanks for commenting and hope you have a wonderful week :)

  2. I've thought about choosing a link up in the past but don't have any idea how it works because I'm not very tech savvy. 😉 If you choose to go in that direction, feel free to shoot me an email and maybe explain the ins and outs to me so that I could make an informed decision.

    1. Not choosing a link up. COHOSTING a link up. Darn autocorrect.

    2. Hi, Shelly! Co-hosting would be very easy. I co-host a party on Wednesdays, and basically the main host sends the co-hosts the html code for the link up each week. I am praying on this, and I appreciate you being willing to get more information on this. Thanks for commenting and hope you have an amazing week :)

  3. I have been finding it harder and harder to find the time to comment and visit even just a few posts at each of the places I link up but I do try to visit 2-3 and leave comments. I can see how that would be very time consuming! I'm kind of in the same boat as Shelly; I'm open to co- hosting a link up but having never done that before I'm not sure how much of a learning curve there would be.

    1. Hi, Mother of 3! I understand what you mean. I feel like summer is playing a big part of that too with me, where there ends up being more outside events and activities going on. Thanks for willing to find out more information on being a co-host. I am praying on this decision, so I will let you know more details soon. Thanks for commenting and hope you have a wonderful week :)

  4. Kelly I run a linkup too, and have the same dilemma...maybe we should co-host! Some weeks I visit all of my links, and some weeks I only visit my features. Either way, it's time consuming. I saw a blogger make a comment this week that she no longer links at parties where she is not individually acknowledged, as that is what she and her co-hosts do...she has 7 co-hosts! Easy when there's 8 people sharing the load! I always, always comment on three at each linkup I attend, and at 4-6 a day, even that takes time. But that is the ONLY way it's beneficial for anyone. If you'd like a co-host, I'm up for it! Come and visit me at A Tray of Bliss at: http://atrayofbliss.blogspot.com.au/ or visit my linkup Five Star Frou-Frou at: http://atrayofbliss.blogspot.com.au/2016/04/five-star-frou-frou-47.html. Let me know. I think we could be a great team. Mimi xxx

    1. Hi, Mimi! It is interesting being a host or co-host for a link up party, because you get a more in depth look at the blogging world and how it works. I have seen it be very beneficial to have co-hosts, so I am thinking about this greatly and appreciate that you would be willing to co-host. I will be checking out your website later this week, and should have more details at my link up this week. Thanks for taking the time to comment and hope you have a wonderful week :)

  5. I love your link-up and seeing your comments each week. But I know that takes time. I haven't been as faithful about commenting on others, though I may read and pin them.
Looking forward to whatever changes you decide to make in the best interest of your committments (family, blog, etc).

    1. Hi, Trena! I very much enjoy commenting, reading and pinning the amazing articles linked here each week. Some weeks are easier than others to accomplish this. I just feel bad when I don't get the time to do it. I am truly blessed to have such amazing people link up here each week, including yourself. Thanks for commenting and hope you have a wonderful week :)

  6. Wow!!!!Kelly, I have personally wondered how hosts cope with visits and comments too☺😊

On my blog, I struggle with responding and visiting back. So I simply visit kind bloggers who leave comments to let me know they were there...but respond too very few on the blog.life is busy when you have family work study going on too.😕

As Debbie said there is little time in the day for homekeeping, blogging, working.

Take it easy ok...whatever you decide it's OK. ..a co-host some rules, that gives you time to attend to real life needs is fine
