M is for Manger by: Crystal Bowman & Teri McKinley (Book Review)

M is for Manger by: Crystal Bowman & Teri McKinley (Book Review)
Disclosure: I was provided a complimentary copy of this book through Tyndale House Publishers for an honest review.

M is for Manger is a delightful children's book that tells the story of the very special moment of and the events leading up to the birth of Jesus Christ.  It tells the story in chronological order and offers a letter of the alphabet to highlight a word that starts with that letter.  The story goes through letters A through Z in a fun, rhythmic pattern and offers scripture on every page to show where in the Bible that part of the story came from. The illustrations also do a wonderful job showcasing the letter with adorable characters.

I loved everything about this book.  I think it's a phenomenal way to teach letter recognition to a child, and also teach words to an early reader.  It's also a great way to teach the story of Christmas through scripture in a way a child will understand.  A fun family activity may be highlighting all the scripture mentioned in this book, in a child's Bible.

M is for Manger gets five stars from this homeschool Momma!  My sons who are 4 and 6 enjoyed reading this book with me and listening to the scriptures.  Although it is a children's book, I think many adults would enjoy this also.  Christmas brings a sense of magic, hope, and allows the child in us to come out.  I have a feeling this book will not only be a favorite at Christmas at our house, but throughout the whole year.
