Publix Flavor Excursion Sale & (Giveaway Expired)

Welcome to the Chopped edition of Raising Samuels Homeschool!  What if you had the following three ingredients below and had to make dinner out of it?  Follow along throughout the post and I will tell you what my husband and I made.  Don't forget to enter the giveaway at the bottom for a chance to win $10 in Pay Pal cash!

At Hunt's, we're all about tomatoes. That's why we can each tomato for our diced, stewed, and whole varieties within hours of picking it from the field, and FlashSteam with only water—not lye.

Hunt's Tomatoes
Step One: Boil 2 1/4 water with 1 cup of rice, 2 tbsp. of olive oil, 1 chicken bouillon and 1 can of Hunt's Diced Tomatoes.  When boiled, lower to simmer for 25 minutes or until all water has been absorbed.

Step Two: 1 packet of Old El Paso Taco seasoning and 2 cans of canned chicken.  Follow directions on back of packet.

Is there a fruit more versatile than the avocado? You can slice it, dice it, smash it, or serve it whole. It tastes great at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, or as a satisfying snack any time of day. Step Three: Slice open 2 Avocados from Mexico and take off avocado skin and pit out of center.

Publix Flavor Excursion Sale Event will be from September 10-23, 2015.  There will be in-store savings, fun displays and recipes throughout the store that you can experience and make delicious, fun meals at home for the family.  Some of the recipes will be for:

• Oven Parmesan Chicken with Penne Marinara
• Grilled Chicken Taco Boats

Step Four: Heat up a griddle and add butter to bottom of tortillas.  Then add shredded Kraft cheese (1 1/2 cups) and chicken taco mixture.

Step Four: Flip 1/2 of tortilla so that it closes with the melted cheese.

Step Five: Cut into bite size pieces.  (This is perfect for during a football game!)

Step Six: Take avocados and dice into cubes, then roughly mash.  Add 1/2 tsp. of salt and 1/4 tsp. garlic powder.  You have just made rough chopped guacamole!

Step Seven: Your rice should be just about ready.  Plate all your food together and place a dollop of sour cream on the rice. 

Finished product: Spanish rice with chicken quesadillas and a rough chopped guacamole!
