Thanks for joining us again this week as we explore apples, plants, and China. The boys did wonderful this week and I continue to be in amazement at how much they can learn and want to learn! Here is our week!

Bible and Reading:
Monday - We read "Solomon's Wisdom" (1 Kings 1-4) in "Jesus Calling." Solomon asked God for wisdom and to be a good king, rather than for material riches. God gave him wisdom, wealth and respect. This was an awesome lesson to go over with the boys because just that morning, my oldest asked why it was important for him to be smart. God always has a way of answering our questions!
We discussed what is right and wrong, and some right things we could do are to spend time reading the Bible and praying. We read the books, "The Story about Ping" by: Marjorie Flack and Kurt Wiese, "The Paper Dragon" by: Marguerite W. Davol, and "Good Night, Little Pumpkin" by: Claire Keay. There is actually a giveaway going on for a copy of this book at Satisfaction Through Christ, where I contribute also. B did lessons on primary colors and Reading K-L.
Tuesday - B did "Lesson 50" out of "100 Easy Lessons" and the new words and sounds he learned were: ch, us, seat, hear, hope, pot, dog, have, his and near. We added "g" for garden (garden of Eden) to the Ninja Turtle Alphabet Book. We also read "Ten Apples Up on Top" by: Theo. LeSieg as Dr. Seuss. The boys also did their Bible app on the story of Adam and Eve.
Wednesday - Awanas homework today included B knowing S is for Savior and 1 John 4:14, and P is for Power and Psalm 147:5. G had to learn A is for all, and Romans 3:23. Grandma also read the boys the book, "The Three Ninja Pigs," by: Corey Rosen Schwartz.
Thursday - "Media Day" - G did a lesson on letter s part 1 in ABCmouse. B did lessons on letters g-l. We also read the books, "Planting a Rainbow" by: Lois Ehlert and "Tag!" by: Ann Bryant and Kirsteen H. Jones.
Friday - We reviewed the story of Adam and Eve and that lying is a sin. G's preschool curriculum also covered Romans 3:23 this week! I wrote the verse out on the apples from Life Over C's, and the boys had to put the verse in order. B also did Lesson 51 in "100 Easy Lessons" and the new word was: park.
Art, Music and Physical Education:
Tuesday - B colored his map and flag of China, and we added China to our Passport book. We also went swimming today.
Wednesday - We sang and danced to the song, "Apples and Bananas."
Friday - We colored apples on paper plates and B named them the "Apple Kids!"
Motor and Social Skills, and Critical Thinking:
Tuesday - We played with the apple orchard Play doh set from Life Over C's. The boys had fun playing with their Paw Patrol toys and having them save the day for the apple orchard! Both boys answered reading comprehension questions in the Bible app, and B answered reading comprehension questions from his reading lesson.
Wednesday - Awanas.
Friday - The boys got a lesson on saying thank you and please, and how important that is. We did some more Play doh fun, with making circles and then lowercase a's out of Play doh. I also mixed cinnamon into red Play doh to make apple pie scented Play doh so the boys loved mixing that together and then smelling it! B answered reading comprehension questions from his reading lesson.
The boys making Peter Pan and a monster from "Where the Wild Things Are."
Monday - B wrote w and th.
Friday - B wrote p and th.
Tuesday - We played Jake and the Neverland Pirates graphing math game from 123homeschool4me. We did this during B's reading lesson so after each individual section, he got to roll the dice and graph which character the dice landed on. What a blast and it kept his attention for reading and math! The boys did numbers 1-12 in their Math Readiness book, and we counted the apples in our Play doh adventures today.
Jake won for this week!
Thursday - G did counting 1-5 on ABCmouse today.
Friday - B learned about the Ten Frame today. He did a great job of counting how many ladybugs there were from the Making 10 Pack from Mrs. Payton's Precious Kindergartners.
Science and Social Studies:
Monday - The boys learned about China and where it is in location to the U.S. and Florida. The language spoken is Chinese and B was amazed to see how large it was in comparison to the U.S.
Wednesday - The boys learned some science vocabulary about plants today (roots, stem, leaves, seeds, seedlings, flowers, fruits, and vegetables.). They played some vocabulary games and picture identification from Chapter 1: Plants from MacMillan/McGraw-Hill.
Thursday - B learned about farm animals, sheep, elephants and gorillas today on ABCmouse.
Friday - The boys learned the parts of an apple that Momma drew from the paper plates. (skin, flesh, seeds, core, and stem.)
