1st week of October: K is for King and L is for Leaves and Ladybug

This week we started out with the letter K and did a worksheet with K is for King, where the boys were able to color, cut and paste different shapes for the King on the worksheet such as circles and squares.  We then did math with this such as how many circles were there plus how many squares equals how many shapes.  We also read Humpty Dumpty about all the King's men not being able to put Humpty Dumpty together again.

L was for Ladybug and similar worksheets with shapes and math was involved.  We read "The Grouchy Ladybug" by Eric Carle, one of our favorite authors.  We were able to do classifications from small to large with the animals and intro to learn analog time as there is a clock on each page.

We read Chapters 9 to 11 in "The Story" (our children's Bible story book from Grandma and Grandpa).  We learned about Naomi and Ruth, Hannah and Samuel, and David and Goliath.  All good lessons from being kind to God hearing our prayers to being brave in the name of the Lord.

We also did our lessons in 100 Easy Lessons.  B is doing awesome on phonics and G is following right after him making the sounds, not even realizing they are learning to read!

We had lots of play time including playdate with their friend and reviewing with our letters using Playdoh, paint, and Aqua Doodle!

Daddy helped B with ABCmouse lessons and Awanas homework this week again.  I love that they are getting this time together!  We also had Parents Night at Awanas this week where we got to see what the boys do while they are there, which was cool.

L is for Ladybug!

G having fun at Ikea for lunch!

Painting and reviewing letters A through L we learned so far! I gave them each a certificate for completing this so far and I think they like that.  I'm also thinking about making an Alphabet book for them for when we finish with all of the work they have done so far.

Aqua Doodle review of letters m and t for 100 Easy Lessons.

Look how awesome B's writing is!

More letters!

Painting our leaves and letter review.

B is getting confused with little a so some of them look like p's but we are working on it :)

The boys playing Legos together.

The boys at Ikea during their playdate and then we went to Homeschool Day in the Park to play on the playground!  It was a great day!
